St. George's School for Boys

I have had the privilege to photograph various projects and events for St. George's School for Boys in Vancouver over the last five years. My favourite of which is the annual multi-day shoot for their website and collateral materials that happens each fall. The boys are always polite, respectful and quick to loosen up in front of my camera but no matter how much fun we are having they ALWAYS call me Ma'am...who the hell are they are talking to?

Wild Goose Vineyards

I was hired to photograph the Wild Goose Vineyards and the family that founded them and still run them today in Okanagan Falls. It was a beautiful and flavourful shoot...if I could only find a way to ensure that wine is a part of every photography gig I do moving forward I would be a very happy girl. It was an honour to work with Adolf Kruger, his family and to experience the harvest first hand.

#Vancitypride: In the afterglow

The Vancouver pride celebrations are my favourite time of year in my city. Every year my husband and I celebrate with friends, attend the parade, dance in the daylight at Sunset Beach and have a fantatic time basking in all of the shared love that comes with the festivites. I am very proud to live in Canada, I am very proud of our city and I am proud of the hundreds of thousands of people that came out to support each other, celebrating the differences that make us beautiful. Here are a few of my favourite shots, from various parades, that capture the spirit of what this weekend is all about. I hope everyone had a safe and amazing Pride weekend. #loveislove

GRADUATION DAY: Crofton House

Photographing grads before heading off to prom...spirits are always high, everyone looks fantastic and the anticipation of what is ahead fuels their excitement. I look forward to it each and every June. Congratulations to these Crofton House grads.

Try never to be the smartest person in the room. And if you are, I suggest you invite smarter people or find a different room.

SNEAK PEEK: Mini Sessions in support of Habitat for Humanity

A HUGE thank you to the 8 families who joined me at Garry Point yesterday for their mini session, in support of Habitat for Humanity. Everyone brought amazing energy and we had a ton of fun together. The 15,000 steps that I took while shooting is proof that we used every corner of that park for your photographs.

The sneak peek is below so make sure to click through the images to find yours!

If you didn't get a chance to participate and donate yesterday I still have a couple of afternoon spots available for the May 14th sessions at Granville Island. Contact me at richelle@richelleakimow.com

Life, Love, Inspiration.

Welcome to the blog portion of richelleakimow.com. The photographs found here will be of my awesome clients, my real life habits and a reflection of the life, love, and inspiration in the world.

I am hoping that this space will help us get to know each other better, so you are comfortable being 100% authentically you in front of my camera, creating a fun, easy, atmosphere on our shoot - what remains will be gorgeous images that are perfectly and uniquely you.  I promise that getting your picture taken is more fun than you think it is! I vow to keep the images of Izzy (my rescue cat) and Rob (my husband) to a minimum.

I look forward to meeting you!
